Overheating
Had a very slow (maybe 25mph) low side slide into some grass and damaged the right fairing. Cracked right below the bottom front corner of the radiator opening, so I'm thinking that's where I might find the cause for overheating. It stayed hot as I drove it home, but only broke 250 degrees when I sat at one traffic light. Got home pretty quick. Most of the ride home the temp was around 220.
Any ideas where else I should look for trouble would be appreciated. |
First thing to look at is the thermostat.

You might have damaged or jammed the fan. Check to see if it spins freely.

So as it does sound like either the radiator moved a little bit and jammed or something got stuck in there and it then blew the fuse. Still it would be a good time to flush and fill the cooling system if you haven't done it for a while..... ;) |
nekkid and daytona, are right with thermo and fan, if its not that then start with checking conections, wires, rad cap, fan temp switch, air in system as per the manual... many more info ?
