Is this normal?

I noticed a hose coming from a tee in the drain tube (2-4 of Service Manual) from the fuel tank. (Definitely not the vacuum tube from the rear carb.). This hose was tucked up in the frame with no cap. On the other end of the tee a hose fished toward the ground for the drain. The final hose made its way back to the tank where it would connect.
Why would this line have a tee? Is that normal? All the PAIR components were removed by PO.

If the tee is not necessary, I want to steal it for the carb sync mod for the rear vacuum tube

Im not positive.....................Its just been too long since i played with a stock VTR that had all the stock hoses......
the long tube in your pic leading to the T, that is for sure the fuel tank drain tube? You found it is connected to the port on bottom of tank that drains the fuel filler area?

And it goes to a T? So where do the two other sides of the T lead too?
I think you said one to the ground, ok where is the other one going?

Im just not remembering a T in the drain tube..
Vacuum line yes, but not drain or tank breather tube...

Was this a California bike perhaps? They have an evaporate charcoal canister system for venting the fuel tank that is a collossel mess of hoses

The final hose was just zip tied to the frame with an open end. Seems to serve no purpose. I was thinking the PO may have misunderstood the carb sync mod. I went ahead and stole the t for the rear vacuum line to do the sync mod. Replaced it w a straight connector. Now it’s a single line from tank to ground. I guess I will see.

Thanks for for your reply’s. Oh, I successfully removed the broken brass fitting. All good.
