Did you check the kill switch? I've been riding for years and still do that sometimes.

Dude, the most important parts of your ignition system are right back by the taillight.
You probably unplugged a box.
Did you make sparks when you were playing with the wires back there?
If you did, you could have shorted and faulted your ignitor.

Billzilla15 06-03-2009 11:11 AM

no nothing is unplugged and no sparks at least from what i saw the only thing i did differently is move the ballast box for my hid from the center of the tail section (surrounded by plastic) to against the frame rail in the back and i turned it on before i tried to start it i dunno id the box would have short circuited something

well i fixed it.... i clipped some wires going to the one ignition box with a drill bit like a retard... all in a days work..... sometimes i want just one thing to go right

i did the kill-switch dummy move yesterday

I was gassing it up at the station near work and spilled gas all over the bike. I figured I flooded the carbs because after I wiped it down it wouldn't start. I never touch the kill switch even though I ride 50 miles a day rain or shine. I posted on CraigsList motorcycle forum "how long should I wait.. don't want to run my battery out trying but also don't want to be here all night", and within 10 minutes someone told me to check my kill switch. DOH! Going to start using it now just to keep this kind of stupidity from happening again.

Things like that happens to everyone if you wrench on your own stuff and, hey, it's still better than having to depend on someone else to get it done for ya and then pay 'em a crap load of $$$. I always like reading these types of threads coz I can learn from them, too. Glad you sorted it out.
