My Cans.. wtf

Today I experienced something I have NEVER seen, at a stoplight I accelerated and in my mirror I noticed puffs of "stuff" coming from my left can, I stopped to see what the hell, and sure enough it was the packing from my two bros can. I went home and pulled the can apart and the core had moved of the inner mounting allowing all the packing materiel to be discharged, so I am left with a un-usable can until I repack it.. aside of the deafening noise... what are the other cons associated with running the bike for a day or two without exhaust cans. this is a cash issue and I need to get to work and school..

Earplugs are less than a dollar....I dont think it can do much harm for a couple days but why no cans. You can still run em, they'll just be louder.

Maybe your disgruntled nieghbor stuffed some owens corning in there to pipe you down

HAHA,,, my neighbors..... were not friends.. so Im not concerned , but I am aware of valve damage occurring on a "normal" automotive engine when running the engine without proper exhaust.. I.E. headers/ exhaust manifolds.. the cold air could creep on up the exhaust pipe and warp the valves.. just wondering if this is a concern on the hawk?

Basically of no concern on the Hawk, as long as you have exhaust of a decent length on there. If you had a big leak at the header to head connection, you might have reason for concern, but not in this case. The only danger you run is to your wallet from pissing off the local constabulary. :D
