mosfet r/r install roadstercycle?

So I bought the super kit from roadster cycle. If someone is feeling helpful could you please point me in the right direction for some install help? I'm going to keep searching but if someone could help me out with a link it would be much appreciated.

dylan.

What is the super kit from roadster cycle? Sounds expensive. Why not just an R1 unit?

bluka987 03-30-2015 04:38 PM

I don't know why. From searching though all the stuff about r/r this is the one I picked. Mosfet shindengen rectifier regulator blah blah I'm just trying to get this done...

Right....

But you need to put up picks or a link to what you have or else how can anyone help?

Its like asking "which end of this is up?". Not enuff info.

It comes with the r/r and a new plug I have to solder the plug in and connect it to the battery.

For the connector and other good stuff this guy is great to use.

R/R Connectors

He also offers high voltage headlight wiring that improves headlight power.

It's nothing sexey, and in some ways not as good as a custom install . Roadstar has some NICE products, have a look at the voltage light.. I have over 1/2 dozen installed now and all love um.http://roadstercycle.com/Motorcycle%...%20monitor.htm
The RR kits are just a kit, eliminating the footwork of end user finding the parts and doing the major part of building the "kit"
Home

It uses some components i would not, but at least it does not REUSE the crappy OEM wiring
To the OP... it's as simple as connecting the grey plug three wires in any order to the stator yellow wires.
And then the red and black wires to the POS & NEG battery terminal.

I prefer to use marine grade tinned wire , polyolefin adhesive lined heatshrink tubing in my installs. I get OEM style shindengen sealed connectors from Eastern Beaver or other sources, and and build the kit myself.

I DO NOT use a fuse or circuit breaker. But I use 10ga marine grade wire with a heat shrink sheath, and then run the wires in a split poly loom tube so the chances of insulation damage and a hot wire grounding out is very very minimal
One of my installs

Thanks very much for the help guys. It's so easy to tell people to search the forum but it's not always that easy. Thanks for taking the time to respond and help.

I still haven't been able to take a ride since the install (been crazy busy at work, i rent boats in florida)but when I put a meter to the battery when the bike is off it says 12 dc volts and when at idle it says 13 or so. Hopefully my problem is solved.

thanks again

Dylan
