Modify Master Cylinder for brake lines?

1 Attachment(s)
I did not see this particular front brake issue discussed anywhere in the Technical Discussion forum previously so here goes.

I recently added HEL stainless brake lines up front & thought I was pretty careful about mounting and routing them. But the other day I noticed one of the lines gets flexed pretty hard at full left steering lock due to the gauge cluster being in the way.

To me it looks like the mounting boss sticking off the end of the master cylinder should be modified or removed for the kinds of hose ends on HEL brake lines so they can angle down more sharply for clearance.

Anybody run into this issue before or solve it another way?

I cut mine off because I did not like the angle that the brake line was held at. I have never warmed up to the dual lines out of the master. At some point I will eliminate the second line and split the single line somewhere down stream.

I Dremeled the pegs off the master cylinder so I had more freedom in line placement and master cylinder orientation.

I did the same thing.

Modify, That's what i do.. the "peg" is an idiot proof alignment "tool" so the OEM line will be placed in the correct, indexed position, as you're no longer using the OEM line, no need for the peg.

Add me to the list. I too removed enough material to route where I wanted.

Thanks all for the replies.

Remving the extension "seemed" obvious, but thought you guys know more than me so what's the harm in asking for some consensus.
