Mileage with baffle work

Hey

So I drilled some holes in my outer baffle wall around where the spout is and the sound is good but with increased ease of air flow out shouldn't I get better gas mileage?? I think it got a little worse. Or for that matter do any of you guys with aftermarket pipes get better gas mileage??

If your worried about gas milege sell the superhawk these things are pigs I'm lucky to get 130 miles on one tank but I love her any-ways

I have brought the Bird to a couple of Gassoholics Anonymous meetings and she is still in denial.

It's a loosing battle...the Super Hawk is a Super Lush when it come to mileage...just get a second job and enjoy :)

Better flow producing better gas mileage is a myth. More flow means more power. That power, in this case, does not come from better efficiency so much as being able to push more air/fuel into the combustion chambers. What does more fuel mean? My results are that it gets worse mileage by about 3-4mpg. At 30-35mpg it still does WAY better than most cars!

Ok so am I to understand that all Twin sport bikes get low gas milleage in comparison with in lines??example- ducati kawi everybody or is it a honda thing??

They're not the best but one of the main reasons is the 2 huge carbs under the tank. A fuel injected twin will get a little better gas milege but for the most part any large engine mortorcycle that gets ridden won't be the best a MPG.

This may not be exactly accurate but it gives a good overall comparison.

Big jugs just cost more no matter if it is measured by the gallon or the cup. See Victoria's Secret for the latter comparison.
