Master Cylinder plug broke off . . .
 

I just got back from doing about 1400 miles in 3 days. During the first 550 mile day, about halfway through, my bike stopped letting me start it in gear. I could only start it in neutral. While looking for the reason, I saw that one of the two wire plug prongs sticking out of the front brake master cylinder had broken off. The wire goes from the master cylinder to the kill switch and start button. My rear brake light no longer lights up when I use the front brake, but still works with the rear brake.

So I have two questions:

1. Is this broken prong the reason the bike won't start in gear anymore? Or is there some other thing (wire) broken that I haven't found yet? I wouldn't have guessed that this prong would have anything to do with being able to start the bike in gear, but it does go to the starter button and kill switch, so maybe it is related?

2. Can I fix the prong somehow? It's broken off right at the base of the prong. Do I need a whole new master cylinder, or is there a way to just fix or replace the prong? I'm not very experienced with electrical stuff, but I can follow directions pretty well. It's a 2007 CBR1000RR master cylinder, but that plug area looks the same as the Superhawk from what I remember.

You need a pos #1 to repair the brake master cyl.

Just saw you have a different master cyl. Just look for the same bit for whichever master you are using.

Though it has nothing to do with starting in gear, check the clutch master as it has the same type of switch on it which might be broken or disconnected.
