Man I wish this thing was fuel injected
I have no interest in modifying but the thing is, I live in Denver. If I were to jet it for this altitude, and ride it at sea level would it A) Damage the engine as conventional wisdom might suggest, or B) Not run properly? or both?
Or is it something you can just get away with since it's a Honda? |
RK1 that's sweet you have such a variety of elevations to ride on, must be really cool mountainous roads
|
Mine runs fine up here on stock jets. Jetting is affective at low altitude because the bike is getting enough air that it runs a bit lean. Here in D-Town Lean will never be a problem. Stock jetting will make the hawk run a little rich up here which isnt a bad thing (unless you are lazy like me and havent dissabled the PAIR). Where in Denver do you live?

The mountain roads are ok. The ones you'd think would be awesome are covered in gravel and torn up from the chemicals they use during the winter.Plus It is a little scary when you come tearing around a corner to see a herd of elk right by the road.

I live in Golden. I bet I could tell the tuner where I plan to ride the most and he could accomodate
|
I live in Littleton right by Tipsy's Liquor World. So not too far from you.
|
Cool, did you get your bike from Sun? I remember them giving out great deals on blue ones a few years back.
Littleton? I'd avoid Deer Creek Canyon for the rest of the summer, it's patrolled like mad right now. |
I was actually gonna go up there this weekend glad you warned me. The guy I bought mine from got it at Sun. He didnt know that much about it. It wouldnt start when I bought it. it had 9k miles and had never been recked but since he couldnt start it i paid 2700 bucks! All it was was a fuse!:)

golden gate canyon up to black hawk is fun.....or to 'peak to peak' highway up to estes.
|
Oh yeah Thats what im gonna ride this weekend. thanks for the Idea.
|
I live at 5,300 feet and the only thing I experience at sea level is a serious boost in horsepower. ;)
|
Yeah I was thinking of just hooking up a scuba tank to my carb to offset the altitude
