Low top end

So I have a 2002 superhawk and at max speed the dash reads 162mph. I got curious how far off it was so I checked it with gps. Max speed was 132mph. Aren’t these bikes supposed to do 150 to 155.

That's about what I can do on two wheels. I get're up on one for less rolling resistance and I get're up to about 175.

What sprocket gearing are you using?

And, if not stock does it have a "speed healer"?

The answer to your question is yes they should do 155 to 165.

Cycle World originally clocked the '98 at 155. In '05 they clocked it at 150. Had a friend way back in '99 who claimed he had his '98 (jetted, slip ons) on a radar gun at 161. If you're running right and only hitting 132 you're either geared different or still in 5th gear.

Riding that fast on a public road is probably not the most conducive thing to growing old. Hope you've at least upgraded the brakes. If you've ever tried hauling down from those speeds on the stock ones you'll know what I mean. If you're really that concerned with going that fast I'll tell you right now you're riding the wrong bike.

I have myself clocked at 138 in the top of fourth with oem gearing that's according to gps. Speedo said some crazy # (ludicrous speed) iirc.

Pro tip #88468, whenever a squid says he did 185 on his cbr 600, just roll eyes. and walk away.
