Lost Spark in Rear Cylinder

There is no spark coming from the rear plug.(Checked with more than one plug)

Is this most likely a coil issue? Also is it just a coincedence that the alarm stopped woking at the same time?

If it is most likely a coil, should I replace the front as well?, and where is the best place to buy a replacement?

02 Bike has 22k miles.

Sorry for all the ???'s

Little online time at work = quick post

Thanks in advance.

For a little extra work, you can replace them with CBR stick coils, save some weight and get possibly a little performance from it.

I know it doesn't answer your question, but if you go that direction:

If you want to go with the stock set up here is the info:
Honda, ATV Parts, Scooter Parts, Motorcycle Parts,CRF,CR,MX Parts, Goldwing parts

Pos. #6 and you don't have to but you might also want to replace pos. #8 at the same time.

I would replace them both as the plug wires are 9 yrs old. So either way you choose to go, it would be a good time to look into swapping them out.

As for the alarm, I do not believe that the 2 issues are related.

Mine did the same thing way back when... Rear coil failure. No issues since.

OK fellas......

New coil, plug and wires....still no spark.

Where do I go next:confused:

Alarm fixed.(fuse)

Sidestand switch has never worked ...would this cut spark to just one side?

14 days of no riding:( .........I need this resolved!

Effin Co-worker!!!!

Thinking back on what changed from my bike running great on the way to work,to running like shit on the way home,I remembered someone telling me that a co-worker kept kicking the underside of my rear fender with his steel toe boot to trip the alarm.

I will confront him about this tomorrow.

He rides a Harley and there has been some minor joking between both of us about our taste in bikes, but I never touch a bike that is not mine ....let alone kick it!! WTF!

So while cranking the ignition I tapped on what I think is the ICM with a screwdriver, which happens to be right at the rear fender where the douche bag was kicking, and lo and behold I get intermittent spark.

So i think I need a new ICM as I do not see any loose connections or solder joints. I bet a relay or something is toast now!

Question#1 Do I make him pay for the new part?

Question #2 Can someone tell me the actual part name/number?
The manual is a little confusing as the picture shows nothing for a 2002 where this part is located (right under the seat locking mechanism)
