jetting suggestions

Hi all a little while ago I moved from Florida to MN. Due to the change in elevation (app 2K ft)I needed to adjust the jet kit. My current setting are 175F /178R 4th clip down, fuel screw 2.5 out and 50K pilot.

She is weak throughout the entire range, and doesnt have the power she should. I am hoping someone here will have a suggestion. She is stock except for some yosh rs3 slip ons. I also disabled the pair system. I couldnt stand the popping when I changed over the exhaust.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Sadly engine make less power at higher altitude than at sea lever because of the oxygen content since O2 is heavier than N2 so more O2 down there. And sadly, in the mountains is where you need the more power... You still can fine tune it to get all the small bits you can get

I am aware of the fact that engines make less power at higher elevations. However in her current state of tune, she is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down on power. She feels gutless throughout the rev range.

I dont think I could lift the front wheel up if I wanted to. Yes its that bad.

Again I ask, any suggestions for jetting?

I'd go 173/175, stock 48's, and turn the idles in 1/2 turn. Thats what the manual suggests for above 5000ft. You're on your own with the needles. If they are dynojet needles they are basically stock with notches. I'd match them up with the stock height.

Good luck!

+1 on the 48's i live at 500 feet above sea level and the 50's were too damn big for my ride with a K&N filter, Jardine hig mounts, and 4 degree ignition advance.

Sounds like you are giving her way too much fuel.

Leaner is always faster and better, the trick is not to get her too lean and burn a piston.

Your pipes have got to be black as caol on the inside.

Lean her out some
