Yes, I said that out of frustration. I have owned this bike for 15 years. its the 4th most expensive thing I have ever purchased if that says anything. I got the boots all cleaned, mounted correctly and bam! No more leaks. Now I am trying to sync the carbs with my homemade (redneck, Bud Light Lime bottles) carb tool. It does work rather well but, I cant get the vacuum right so far. I got tired of messing with it for the weekend so I will pick back up tomorrow. I also dropped nut driver bit for the sync screw and I didn't feel like fishing it out of a hot engine.

BTW, I didnt use anything to lube the boots. I just applied a BUNCH of pressure to them and this seated all the way down. Same with the carbs.

When syncing carbs, have you ever had your bike stall then be hard to restart? This happened to me tonight when I had way too much vacuum on the front cylinder.

Also, what tool do you use to turn the sync screw? I have a flexable screw driver, but I keep dropping bits (will tape it tomorrow). I do not see any other way to do this.

What liquid are you using to sync them? I used the yard stick and tubing method. Used stabil just in case it got sucked into the motor.

I use a 1/4" driver handle and a Snap On 4" & 3" wobble extension with a Snap On 7mm flex socket on the end.

I have also used a 1/4" driver handle, flex extension (one of the spring types ) a 1/4" universal joint and 7mm socket. If the universal is too loose and the socket falls over, try a piece of electrical tape around the joint.

After each adjustment take the tool off the screw, and blip the throttle a few times...make sure back lash in the screw is in its running state. (NOTE with some sync tools, "blipping" the throttle may cause fluid to get sucked into the engine....If so, don't do that..lol or get a Sync tool that it cant happen with

Let us know how they fit, if they are identical to the OEM part and if they last.
When ever possible I buy OEM rubber parts, fitment, difference in dimensions that may effect performance or retention and service life of the rubber have all been issues I have had with pattern parts..
