Help: headlight problem

Hey guys, would appreciate any help you can give on this subject:

I just got done doing some service on my bike, and just like I always do I buttoned everything up and started the bike to go for a ride. Problem, no headlight. The high beam works just fine, but no low beam. I am thinking that I just have a loose wire or something along those lines, but if any of you have ever had this problem or have an input, please feel free to post. I really do not want to take the plastics off again to screw around with the wiring. Thanks for the help.

You can examine the bulb. Odds are its bad.

I was wondering if there was a chance the bulb could go bad and only work on high, but it seemed like a stretch since it is one bulb. Thanks for the input, anything in particular I should look for with the bulb?

It is one bulb, with two lights inside, so one could be gone bad.

Also, did you unplug the connector by any chance? it could be that when plugging it back in, the low bean pin is not connected all the way in or something.

It is not that complicated. I am sure you will find that it is something simple, like a light bulb or what not.

And remember, you can buy regular car type bulb for it. Don't spend too much money on the dealer stuff.

One of the filaments will be broken with a piece hanging down.

How old is the bike and/or does it sit out in the elements alot? The contact switch on the handlebar could be dirty if the bulb is good. H4 bulbs are very cheap and can be bought anywhere (walmart) for a few bucks.

Replacing the bulb is cheap and easy, and can be done without removing the faring. I put in a PIAA SuperWhite and took me 10 minutes or so. Just remove the plug-in part, pull off the black water gasket and unlatch the funky bulb-catch.

Do NOT touch the new bulb's glass parts!!!
