Headlight...

Anyone know what I can do to improve on the headlight, I just put in a 100/80W bulb and just trying to see what the best thing to do is like if I can aim it down just a little more etc anyone have any ideas or options

Whats the stock bulb, the one that I pulled out was a 130/90 but didnt seem that great and was old as it was what was in when I got it.

Owners manual says 60/55W

Yes but I need brighter I got a brighter bulb well more wattage but is there a way to aim it or something else a better brand bulb something etc?

Yup there's a way to adjust the aim. The gold colored (cad plated) hex head with the washer that looks like a crown are the adjusters. The upper left one is for vertical, the lower right is for horizontal.

Yeah think it just needs to be aimed down a little that and a nice new bulb should do the trick...just wish I knew this before I put all the fairings back on guess Ill try doing it with it all together...was so hard to do it all together I just got pissed off and took it all apart

It's VERY hard to do with the fairings on, but possible... Make SURE the retaining clip is in correctly and the bulb is in the proper orientation. When I replaced all my fairings, I didnt line up the bulb correctly and had a fubar headlight for a month til I fixed it....it was jut seated ncorrextly

I just installed a GE Nighthawk bulb in the stock wattage and it seems like an improvement. If you do a search you will see there is a fair amount of info on this topic. Good luck

I bought some 85/80 Osram caps which work quite well when adjusted properly. You shouldn't need to remove fairings to aim the headlight. As kris-b-crunch said the adjusters are knurled knobs on the rear of the headlight housing. I'm able to turn mine by hand, although each complete turn moves the hadlight little and makes for sore fingers. Just park youself in front of your garage door at night, make some adjustments and ride around to see how they work.

Yeah that headlight thing is terrible started off with the bike together but wow taking it apart sucks

Blurr 04-01-2007 10:10 AM

Osram caps?

Im using just a generic 100/80 have not seen how it looks when riding yet

Had a 90/130 in there but bulb looked cheap my low beem seems too far and high beem seems really off
