Gutless - No power - Clutch

Hey all, just finished a 6 month complete teardown and rebuild of a totaled hawk I bought from a buddy. After going over budget by 5 times my original estimation the sucker is up and running and sounds great.

My only issue is on the street, if you roll more than 10% throttle the RPM's will race with no power. Sounds like an obvious clutch slip issue but anyone have the troubleshoot / repair procedure for this type of problem?

None of the clutch parts were replaced during the rebuild as the actual friction plates looked brand new when I pulled them.

did you bleed the clutch line?

Yes the clutch line has been bled thoroughly and the actual operation of the clutch feels perfect.

What kind of oil do you have in it?

Honda GN4 10/40

I think I may have placed the judder spring infront of clutch plate spring - so:
Ronayers.com Microfiche Honda>Motorcycle>2004>VTR1000F>CLUTCH

7 and 8 are inverted. Obviously im going to correct this but would this cause the problem?

For the record, since the schematic pictures are absolutely horrid, what piece exactly is the concave piece? The "Spring" or the "Judder Spring" ?

I discovered the problem -- After pulling the clutch the first two plates were burned - I had installed the clutch plates so that the last two plates were in the shallow recess when only 1 belongs there.

Damn :/

Related question:

What exactly is the purpose of that shallow slot? I've dealt with quite a few clutches (mainly, but not entirely, MX bikes) and have never seen that before. I couldn't resist trying the "normal" way, keeping all the plates in the same slot. Didn't seem to make a damn bit of difference. So what gives??
