getting back at it.

i'm back in the garage. side-note: just had an amazing storm come through heading almost due south over the lake. it spread out a couple tentacles and racked Chicago with a good dose of heavy rain and an abundance of half-inch hail. they were bouncing off the garage roof across the alley half-way into my garage. i had the door up to get a good view.

my buddy the contractor put two roof vents in my previously vent-less sweat-lodge and i just got a couple boxes containing what will soon be a nifty pneumatic shop chair.

i've had the VTR aging for the last 4 or 5 weeks. i screwed my back up pretty good partly thanks to hunching over this bike. my back is cured and the shop-chair and roof-vents mean one thing. i told my wife i'd be living in the garage for the next 2 to 4 weeks fixing this bike :-) she was not as enthusiastic about this prediction as i was... over the last few weeks i've accumulated a coupe APE CCTs, front and rear gaskets, o-rings, etc. to do this thing. and a 'metric' feeler-gauge set that is plenty long... a big improvement over the confusing standard/metric 3-inch tool i was trying to use for valve-lash measurements before.

i'm psyched to fix this bike.
i'll post up-coming bone-headed disasters as they happen. oh. i got a nice tube of Hondabond HT, too!
