Fuel tank swap.
 

I searched but couldn't find anything about this: can I usa a late model tank with an early model Shawk? I can get an 02 tank but will it work on my 98? Is the tank guage just an additional connector or is it integrated into a single connector?

Same tank. Hasn't ever changed here in the US.

If you are buying the newer tank to replace a damaged older model tank, then all you would need to do is remove the fuel sending unit from the old one and install it on the newer tank in place of the float sensor.

If you want a larger tank a European/Australian 19 litre one fits once you get the new fuel tap and hoses to go with it. No other changes.
