Fuel Economy

Will adding an aftermarket air filter and exhaust help fuel mileage as well as performance?

The best thing to help mpg is your right wrist. Stock or heavily modified, I never got good mileage. As always: YMMV! (sorry, I couldn't resist)

Performance probably yes, economy no as with aftermarket exhaust you usually need to rejet it.

I've been beating the crap out of the ole girl lately and still getting 36-37mpg. What the hell are you guys doing to get such poor mileage?

dude, 33-35 is great for a carburated v twin. Where is the problem?

autoteach 09-10-2007 11:27 AM

I got 43 mpg around lake michigan doing 90mph most of the time

FL02SupaHawk996 09-10-2007 11:39 AM

I can get at least 35 mpg and close to 40 mpg most of the time running 93 octane even with a seriously twisted right wrist. If you're looking for 60 mpg get a moped bro:P

Read my post again, that is what I was saying. BTW, my 16/43 sprockets don't help mileage either.
