Firestorm clutch not working
 

Hi everyone not been on here for a while i changed my front sprocket on my firestorm today and now my clutch wont work and i can't work out why looks like the rod is to long in clutch actuator can any one help me thanks Becky

Hi Becky, what has happened is that the clutch slave piston has come out a bit while you've had the sprocket cover off.
Remove the cover again, and GENTLY push the piston back in, keeping an eye on the fluid level in the reservoir.
Might as well bleed it through while you're there, 5 minute job.

Actually, with the slave mounted the piston should be all the way in already.

What happened is that the piston worked its way out when you had the sprocket cover removed (they just do that). It sucked air into the line and now you have to bleed it. It's a bit tougher to do than with brakes since the clutch spring force is the only force pumping the air out. It normally takes a bit longer than 5 minutes...I'd say closer to 15.

Next time leave the lower, rear bolt (closest to the line fitting) on the slave cylinder attached when removing the front sprocket cover. That way the slave cylinder remains attached to the cover...no worries about the piston creeping out. And you don't need to tie the clutch lever to the grip either with that method.

I got that tip from inderocker...worked like a charm.
