First question. how can i tell if i have a full yoshi system or just slip ons? I don't see any springs on my cans as of right now.

Next question how can i get my RS-3 Yoshi's to look like this. Still need to keep the rear pegs for the girlfriend!!!!

A full Yoshimura system will be thicker at the header than a stock header, so simply measuring that will tell you... Also the stock exhaust has the "ugly" clamps, and a aftermarket system will most likely have a different solution for splitting the pipes under the swingarm...

Springs or not is usually not a reliable indicator since a lot of full aftermarket systems use them to fasten the parts together the same as on slip-on and midpipes, simply because they are easy to work with, and the exhaust cans are less likely to break in a small tip-over if they can move a little...

If your pipes have the wiggle room in mountings and such, all you need is longer bolts and a length of thick walled aluminium pipe big enough to fit over the bolts, to accomplish that... You cut the pipe to 4 equal lengths, and those are used as spacers between the peg mounts and the subframe, to move them out past the exhaust...

I made my install sleeker by having the spacers turned from billet, and cut the exhaust hanger mounts off the rear pegs, but that's entirely optional...

That is a very stock looking header... So I'd say it's a 99% certainity that you have slip-on's and not a full system...

ok so where would the new pipe be made at and where would it attach to the old exhaust??

If you are talking about the difference of full system vs Slip-on, it's obvious... A full system is all of it, from cylinder wall, to the open end, and slip-on is the midpipe, which your pictures show the joint of, and back to the open end...

Sorry i was thinking of trying to convert this to a high mount system by having a new tail pipe made to raise them up and tucked under the pegs.

Not sure where or how to start on that.

Unless you can seperate the muffler from the midpipe (not the header junction) you probaly can't do it. If you can seperate them then you need upmount midpipes and with few exceptions you usually lose the passenger pegs.

I may be selling my set of Hindle HiMounts with mid pipes of course, I'm just waiting till I get my new pipes this week to make the decision. Of course you can contact Jardine I think they still sell upmounts.

Now, there is always a way... You can go to a fabricator to make what you want, but unless you find someone to do it really cheap, you probably going to pay allot of money for this... Oh... I would say almost like getting a new full system ;)

I'm not aware of anyone making a full system anymore, slip ons at best.

you have an older style yosh slip on, similar to what I have on my rc51. I contacted yosh in regard to the slipon on my rc because I highsided some yrs ago to see if they still make the same style so that I could replace just the one side. They no longer make these style where the can and link pipe are all one solid welded piece. IMO they are much more durable since the can/linkpipe didn't bend from the incident. They now sell them with a removable can and have them attached with springs to the linkpipe.
