Engine Stand - Home Made How-To

Has anyone built an engine stand and if so can you post fabrication drawings and/or photos (or PM me so I can give you my email address)???

I have some ideas on the configuration and design but don't feel the need to have to reinvent the wheel...LOL

What do you want to do with this stand? I made a small dolly for rolling my spare motor around the garage. Just some treated 4x4s on wheels. Holds it upright though.

To work on my spare engine. Never thought of putting it on wheels.

Can you post pics of what you built?

Thx

So this is the start of it. Picture the center (loose) wood blocks removed and just the outer ones secured to brace the motor. The base of the motor sits betweent the side blocks directly on base. Its pretty stable and is super easy to push around the garage.

You could work on it on a mechanics chair (at least head work).

Thx, not exactly what I had in mind.

How many VTR motors do you have? I thought I saw a second in the background of your photo?

Oh, yeah, well this is durring a motor swap so one going in, one coming out. Right now I have 2 hawks and one spare motor. I should sell it but its hard to do. I mean its sitting right there.

Kinda a carryover from racing where it pays to have a spare motor.
