Electrical problems

So earlier, I attempted to do a CCT change out.
Something didn't go right, even though I followed 'directions' to the Tee. Took it to dealer, skipped two teeth, slight valve damage but according to stealer 'not worth fixing cause we got it to run'. leakdown all over the place. but whatever. cost me 500 bucks. Hell, they started it without the airbox or anything just to show me it runs for a few seconds.

I get it home, button it back up with air box, tank, ect. turn key and lights come on, everythings cool. hit the starter? click. bikes dead. no explanation. Any ideas before I strip this thing for parts and buy a new bike?

Im at wits end at this point, got a big bike trip planed for memorial day weekend and im not gonna miss it. either i buy another hawk and swap parts or maybe a Sprint ST or BMW R1100S? idunno.

Hopefully someones got a simple solution for me!
BTW I got an R1 reg/rec in there, ZERO problems until now. currently battery is out and on trickle charger, checked all my farkle wiring for shorts, looks crappy but no shorts lol.

OH yeah, forgot to add, first this happened? i jiggled around the rat nest of wires and after a few minutes i had lights again....then starter button pushed, CLICK. out like a light again....so doubt is reg/rec failure although ill check that 30A fuse again.

Bull shit...
Valve damage (ie bent valves from being out of time in a interference design motor like the VTR) is not something that you can ignore
That shop is wrong.. Either its not the valves and they are wrong, or it is and they are wrong.

Yup, thats what I thought. but I also believed all the BS about changing the tensioners. Shouldn't have touched them. If it aint broke dont fix it. There's just as many people saying 'I never touched them' as 'I tired and failed miserably', like me LOL

Either way, any ideas on the electrical problem?

No prior issue, even started without airbox and gas tank, with residual fuel. now that everything back together? no run? wtf....very frustrating.

problem solved. piece of cake short in the rat nest of wires, no short to ground with all my farkles removed. time to rewire.
