Dynojet EU

Fun fact, while poking around the web I found the instructions for Dynojet and it specifies EU bikes only. Specifically it indicates that the front and rear cylinders use the same main jet size. It also suggests 2.5 turns out...and that should be with #48 pilots installed, also it calls for the needle on the 5th groove, same as US spec with filter/pipe. Anyway, I know for sure the larger jet in the rear is not for cooling, I was certain that it was because of the different velocity stacks, now I am nonplussed.

3. Remove the stock main jets and replace with Dynojet main jets provided. If you are running the stock exhaust install the DJ170 main jets. When running an aftermarket exhaust with a high flow baffle use the DJ180 main jets. NOTE: If you are using a K&Nair filter, use main jets that are 2 sizes larger and install the needles on groove #5. The DJ170 main jets are to be used if running at high altitude
4. Locate the fuel mixture screw (Fig. D). Carefully turn the screws clockwise until they lightly seat and then back out 2.5 turns.

I have had the DJ kit in my bike for years.

180 Front, 185 Rear.

I think my needles are on the 4th clip but can't be sure as I did it so long ago.

I drilled the slides as per the instructions however didn't like is so put standard slides back in and it has been that way ever since.

The beauty of the VTR is that no two are the same as they have carburettors as opposed to injection.

My settings may not work for you as I have many engine mods .

I am now at the stage where I need some cams to help her breath as I have JEs, full race system, lightened flywheel, electric water pump, removed anti rattle gears and water pump chain and gears, coil on plug mod, 4 degree advancer, manual tensioners,, H Power velocity stacks , P.A.I.R removed and a couple of other things that I will remember later .

I am in Australia and my bike is an 05. I believe that Aussie bikes were set up like the U.S ones in California due to the P.A.I.R.

Cheers From Oz

i didnt realise you had removed the pump chain and gears?

The water pump is a Davies Craig brushless unit that is commonly used by car enthusiasts to get more water through their inter coolers..

it it has been on the bike for years with no problems.

The thermostat has been removed along with the chain and gear.

This was done in an effort to reduce reciprocal mass.

it seems to work and revs much quicker than before.
