Dunlop qualifiers track pressures.

What should I run for tire pressures on the track. I guess I read somewhere that for pilot powers if you run them lower than 37 psi they tend to get hot and greasy. So I am wondering about the qualifiers.

I have NEVER run 37 psi in the Pilot Powers. I ran 30 rear / 28 front and had great results. Both on and off the track.
But that wasn't the question.

I started at 34 rear and 32 front with the DQs when I did a track day at Barber last month. Front end slid real bad one time and I started dorkin around with tire pressure a little.
Guess where I wound up?

30 rear / 28 front and they worked great.

Check with the Dunlop guy at the track. I'm guessing those area about what he will suggest you start with.

ok, I will try that, thanx for replying so fast.

30/28 +1 I did the same thing with dicking around and ended the same place I've used with all my tires.

30/30 is where I like to start. The Michelin rep I spoke with suggested 38/38 for the Pilot Powers, and they worked well for my friend. Just start with a baseline, and go from there. If the tires look like they're still brand new when you pull in to the pits, lower the pressure. If they look completely roasted, raise it a little.

Yep, 30/28 is the go. Guys, how are your Qualifiers holding up? I've got about 1000 miles on mine including a track day and they seem to be wearing well. Anyone finished a set off yet?

2 track days and about 500 miles and they still look great so far. I'm going to try and get 2 more track days out of them the 23rd and 24th but I'm not sure if that's pushing it too much.

You gotta be kidding? 38 f/r on Powers? I know the Pilot Race and the Pilot Power have a very similar carcass, and the Mich guys recommend like 24 on the rear, 28 on the front, IIRC. That just seems wierd on the track....like they WANT you to crash?
