Drilling a hole in the carb slide?!
 

I keep searching on the forum to see what you guys have done and why the hell you would do this but i can't seem to find anything. Is there anyone that can shed some light on this subject?

the DynaJet kit people want you to do it...go look at their instructions.....it has something to do with low to midrange running with their jetting.
The "Factory" jet kit peopl tell you not to.

Hi Ed 07, I dont have Dyno Jet on my SH (+1 Factory Pro) but according to my Mechanic friend who turn wrench for living said he never did drill carb slide when he install Dyno Jet:shock: and i think this is why most forks got into hipcup when they try Dyno jet kit. For less surprise i go w/F P.

I think Dynojet's claim is that by drilling an additional hole in the slide, along with their lighter shorter springs, the slide will lift easier/quicker resulting in better, more immediate throttle response/ acceleration.

I have a Dynojet kit installed and drilled my slides. I had to try a few different combos of main jets and needle position, but the bike now pulls perfectly from idle to redline and pulls perfect in 6th from 2k rpm. I don't know how much of a difference the extra holes made, but they sure didn't hurt.
