Down On Power - CCT Issue?

Hi, I searched and read many CCT related articles on this forum however didn't find anything that specifically referenced my symptoms... Maybe someone here can confirm if this is a CCT related issue?

While down shifting through the gears - The Superhawk's Stain-tunes sound so good doing this - I felt a little 'hick up'. After that moment, it was noticeably down on power. It starts and runs but feels more like a 750cc VTR. After failing to find anything wrong, I decided to take it into the dealer.

Dealer did a compression test and leak down test. Here are the results:
Leak Down: F = 15%, R = 20%
Compression: F = 115, R = 120

My VTR is a 1998 with 32,000 miles. It has the original CCTs.

Thanks
Ron

airfilter? hoses esp vacuum firmly in the right place with no holes/spilts? - same for the petcock diaphragm. Carbs need cleaning - gummed up? old fuel?

Plugs?, plug caps firmly on?

It has the original CCTs.

CCT failure is binary - either they work or they don't - with the bike producing the sound of a cement mixer full of metalic junk...

Are you mechanically inclined enough to pull the cam covers and check timing?

This is the next step I'd take.

Just an update... I asked the dealer to check engine timing yesterday.

Get them some manual cct's and never worry about it again! You're on borrowed time.

There are good mechanics and not so good mechanics. I hope your luck falls to the former.
Let "borrowed time" guide you decisions.
