Double banjo bolt with bleeder

Anyone found one of these? Am I wrong to believe I need a 10x1.25 bolt?

I can only find a 1.00. Anyone? I am using a cbr600f4i master

Wolverine 11-19-2016 09:06 AM

I bought from this seller when I put the bleeder on my abs pump. I can't remember right now if you'd need 1.25 or 1.o but here is the link.

So here is what I went with, I have a few of the Goodrich non bleeder types but wanted to bleed from there as its the highest point in the system.

Shindy Aluminum Double Banjo Bolt with Speed Bleeder - Parts Giant

Seems pricey for what it is but if it solves the issue its worth it.

EDIT TO FUTURE VIEWERS: This shindy model does not work and it trashed my master due to bottoming on a ridge it has.

Good one, I'm using that on one of my bikes.

Ok, update, that banjo did NOT work.

It has this weird ridge of aluminum just past the end of the threads that totally prevents it from torqueing down on the banjos, and the causes it to strip the master cylinder.

Almost thought it was a defect since why would it have a ridge there???????????

Pretty annoying.

I think I see what you mean.

The one I linked you to does not have said shoulder so they are not all created equal. Hate to suggest but could one stack 2 crush washers to go over the shoulder? Eh, too late now...

Yeah I thought of that in the moments when I realized the shortcoming of the bolt.

Notably, the one I was using has a bleed nipple on it. I have a bunch of the type in your picture but really wanted the bleeding ability. I find it odd they are not more commonly used.

Wolverine 11-30-2016 09:36 PM

Looks like the pegasus ones don't have ridge either, for next time...

smokinjoe73 11-30-2016 09:47 PM

Hehe, yeah I am going to order one of the Pegasus ones. Steel seems like a better idea than aluminum anyway.

That's the correct size for the Honda master right?

10X1.25 is correct unless you have a Brembo MC then it's 1.00.

smokinjoe73 12-01-2016 08:37 AM

Ok good, ordered it. Today is sunny so better brake bed in and shakedown today.

CruxGNZ 12-02-2016 06:11 PM

If I saw this post earlier, I could've stopped by Pegasus and checked that bolt out for you. Pegasus is just a five minute drive from my house. I love that place. Very helpful people too. Bought many parts and supplies from them.

Fastguy59 01-31-2017 02:13 PM

Spiegler makes them

Couldn't you used 2 crush washers against the MC or was the ridge at the top?

I have been using the Russell aluminum unit for 15 years with no issues, unfortunately they no longer carry it...but of course I have a brand new spare still in the original package! :evillaugh:

CaryDG 03-08-2017 08:24 AM

Will you part with it?

smokinjoe73 03-08-2017 08:29 AM

I don't think double washers would've solved it but I just wouldn't do that on purpose anyway. It adds a failure point IMO.

The one I am using is perfect and is not aluminum which I didn't like either for its softness.

Not a chance but see below and contact Joe to find out what he got instead (I may need another too come to think of it).

Joe, what did you end up getting? BTW, In aircraft they use double banjos all the time if the exact thickness crush washer is not available...

smokinjoe73 03-08-2017 12:16 PM

Double banjos yes but double washers just doesn't seem right to me. If they were new and pristine I guess but I rarely am in that spot.

Didn't I post up what eventually worked somewhere? I will look. Its been perfect.

Oh yeah so it was the Pegasus racing one I got.

10 mm x 1.25 mm double banjo bolts

Nice find Joe!

They also have 10 x 1.0 mm

Shappy1 03-15-2017 10:19 AM

I bought some and have them on my clutch master and slave. I loved them but as my bike does get rode in rain and stays outside under a cover they ended up rusting. I'm debating on spending the 30+ for another set.

Here is a link to an eBay auction selling M10x1.25 double banjos with bleeders made from titanium. The outfit looks to be located in England. They have several other titanium bits listed on eBay and on their website. They didn't have M10x1.25 double banjos with bleeders listed, but I contacted them and asked if they would be making these in the future. A gentleman named Rauf replied that he would do a run of them and that it would take about 8 weeks. That was early July. He got back to me that they were available and they are now listed on eBay. From the listing, it looks like they made 20 of them. Fifteen remain available on the listing at the time of this writing. I bought some, but, having not received them yet, cannot attest to their quality, etc. I also bought a couple single banjos from them early July, but haven't received them yet. When I do, I'll follow-up with an impression.

smokinjoe73 08-02-2020 07:15 PM

That looks nice. Post up how it is but it looks good.

VTR1000F 08-27-2020 04:15 PM

I have received both the single and double banjo bolts with bleaders referenced in my post above. Both are very nice and look exactly like the pictures in the eBay auctions except they are a bit darker in color. They look like titanium. Fit and finish is very nice. I haven't actually installed them with banjos, but I have threaded them into masters and compared to stock bolts.

The singles were slower to arrive as the purchase was a smaller amount and was shipped without tracking. The purchase for the doubles exceeded 40 pounds, which seems to be the cutoff to get faster shipping with tracking.

I also received an email from the seller, raceTi, today warning of a price increase as of 1 September on their website and as of today??? on eBay. Here is the text of that email:"Beat the Price Rise!

The long term pressure of increased machining costs means we will be raising our prices from Thursday this week on Ebay.

All website prices will increase from 1st September 2020

We still offer fantastic value and this is our first price increase for 5 years.

You will still be able to use our website discount code repeat10 with all orders over £40 qualifying for free postage on top of the discount."
