Degreeing cams: engine removal?

Just wondering if the cams can be degreed with the engine still in the frame ?

cheers

Anything is possible

yes, it can be done. its not bad. the most important thing is getting a very adjustable gauge holder - one of those cobra link style to hold the needle gauge at the right angle - that is the pain in the ass part because its hard to get in the right angle. After that its not bad.

good luck

Well it can be done, it is just a lot more challenging to accomplish.

Oh and I still have to send you a reply to your last PM. I'll send it tomorrow.... ;)

Yep. I did it. It can be frustrating, but is probably less time consuming than removing the engine.

Dumb question, but what exactly does degreeing a cam do? I've seen articles on how to do it, but I don't get what it's meant to accomplish.

Should be pretty easy with the engine in place. I think the extra time/effort would not be worth it - you would be ahead to just leave it in place. That's what I have already done and never found it to be a problem.
