crappy gas mileage and lack of power

so over the last 4 tanks of gas I've gone from 105 to 95 to 88 and finally down to 82 mile before the blinking light. It has also felt like she hase been lacking a little power. So i guess my question, is it time to tear into the carbs for a good cleaning?

Is your petcock leaking fuel? I'm not sure about the power loss thing but when I started losing overall mileage per tank my petcock was dripping fuel off the backside. I would imagine the fuel smell would be next to impossible to miss but just a suggestion from what I have experienced.

and 'lacking a little power'.

Is the enriching circuit (choke) completely off after warm up?
Air filter clean?
Snorkel unobstructed?

It could be caused by a tear in a diaphragm, even. Since you are talking about cleaning the carbs, look closely.
