Choke Slips?

Hi all. I have a 98, and when I pull the choke out, it generally slips back in, sometimes within 5 seconds, sometimes within a couple minutes - to *almost* all the way back in. It's kinda nice cause I never "forget" and leave my choke on, but then again, I'm also screwed if I want to drive a few blocks with it on.

Anyone heard of this?

Also, how does one "balance" the chokes?

Thanks!

Pull back the rubber boot (behind the ****) and tighten the knurled nut.

This ought to be a sticky.

Or just moved to the technical info one. Torque specs, wiring diagrams, and yes the common problems. The few things I found in there were a huge help and already had me spending a few hours "under" the bike. :-)

BTW - what's idle supposed to be set at on this bike? Before my latest service it had to be like 1500, now it seems like it'd idle at 750 rpm all day. I need to set it, balance the carbs, reset it, then check my TPS again.

1100-1200 stock spec.

If you have problems with clutch in stalling, bump it up to 1300-1400

Forget the TPS.
