Choke cable or SE Valve?

I have a 98 and am having a problem with the choke cable. I bought the bike earlier this year and it worked and started fine. Recently the choke knob wont stay out when I pull it out to start the bike. The bike starts harder and I have to hold the choke knob out and give it some throttle. anyone know whats up? Is this a problem with the cable? Or could it be a problem with the Starting Enrichment Valve? Anyone out there experience this one?

Thanks for any advice. acxprs ~ov`o

The base of the choke turns to tighten the hold on the choke so it will stay out.

Wow easy fix

Hey Thanks a lot. That was easy. I guess I shoulda takin a closer look. I was thinking I'd have to replace the cable.

Thanks, acxprs ~ov`o

No problem, trust me it's one of those things...I thought there was something wrong too when I first came upon this and I was ready to jump for joy when I stumbled on how to adjust it.

I've got an '05 (bought it in April), and the same thing happened to me.

I also think it's not running as well. The carbs didn't seem perfectly balanced from the factory, and they seem a bit more out of whack now.
