Charging Help

I have been reading all the threads on the R/Rs and charging problems and have a question. I checked my voltage across the battery and it came up at 12.4 volts or so. I started the bike and let it run at 2000rpm and the voltmeter read 11.7 or so volts. I then reved the bike up to 5000 and there was no change in the volt meter reading. I went through the steps in the manual for troubleshooting the charging system and I saw that my yellow stator wires were out of the range by .1ohms. I was getting a consistent reading of .6 ohms between all wires. Am I correct in assuming that .1 ohm is not a big deal and that the culprit is most likely the R/R? Also i checked and I do not have continuity from any of the stator wires and ground. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

0.1 Ohm shouldn't make that much difference and I would suspect the R\R

Quick question, not to jack the thread. My rectifier plug burnt today, 2 of 3 yellow wires were burned out of it. I ordered a '00 R1 R/R this afternoon, but then found that I could possibly "patch" the problem until I get the new one (3 days). I cleaned and snipped the wires, put new spade plugs on them, and reconnected. I started the bike, got 14.3V @ 2000rpm which all seems good (temporary fix...this is my only transportation at the moment!) I did notice the rectifier was pretty hot after idling only about 10 minutes. Is this normal? I know a lot of amperage goes through it, but I never paid attention to how hot it got. If not, I won't run the bike tomorrow, and try to find another form of transportation. I also bought a 12V micro fan and wired it up. Not much air, 33.5cfm, but should help some. This is only temporary until I get the new rectifier.....I need my wheels!

Yeah they run hot. Is it the model with heat sinks or without? The ones without run really hot to the touch.

It's the one without fins, just that heat gel crap on it ('99). The R1 I ordered should make a world of difference, along with the fan.....
Thanks for the help!
