Carb fart

Starting to think my cut out issue could be a carb fart instead of spark.

Going to clean the carbs, check the idle jets, set the fuel screws to 2 turns out.

Anyone have any other suggestions to get rid of the carb fart stall? Gonna install my thumb fuel screws while I'm in there.

I occasionally get a carb fart. I’d hate to change anything for it though, my Hawk fuels excellent. Seems to always be on hot days and intake velocity is usually low( low rpm). Doesn’t do it enough for me to care so it’ll be interesting to see if you can find a source/fix. I’ve never heard of a direct, this is it one.

Not sure if it's the same issue but I get sporadic farts only around 3500rpm, when a/f leans out. Other than that, the engine runs strong everywhere, but It's very annoying because 3.5k rpm is ideal for just cruising. I have DJ needles (4th notch) with 190/195 mains (K/N filter/Jardine) and 45 pilots. 2.5 turns a/f screws. I read all threads about this and unless I wanna get rid of DJ needle/KN filter, switching to 48 pilot jet is they way to fix it. Gonna try one of these weekends.

Raise the rotary idle adjuster a smidgen few revs so fart doesn't turn into a skid mark...
