Re: Breakdown of VTR superhawk (1997 Model)
Cool link.I find it a bit hard to belive that the tl 1000s has more
than 10 hp on the the super hawk.I hang with if, not pull on my buddy on the straights and he has a tl1000r Ride red!!!! |
My buddy had a '97 tls and he regularly kicked my ass in the 1/4 mile. Before you say it was rider error, I always beat him in the 80 foot times then he'd pull away.

Re: Breakdown of VTR superhawk (1997 Model)
I am pretty sure the later model TL's had less power than the early ones. So it might depend on what model they had.
|
Yep, you are correct sir.

Re: Breakdown of VTR superhawk (1997 Model)
also I've heard that the TL doesn't have the low end that the VTR has. it does have about 10hp more, but it's in the top end. that's why you can smoke him off the start but he catches up once he spins it up a bit. now I know that the SV motor was derived from the TL, but I can tell you from personal experience that the VTR will beat an SV in every way. even though the SV hp figures are higher than the VTR as well. but the VTR will accelerate faster, and has a higher top speed the the SV. don't know why, but its true.
|
Correct again, the same guy that had the TL sold it, bought an FZ1 wasn't happy with it. Sold the FZ and bought the SV and now says he toatally regrets selling the TL.
|
good read, i was looking for that type of write up
|
I had a 97 TLS . It will kick the living crap out of a SH....the SH has the better low end but after that its seeeee ya
