Bikes starts with a jump...

Hi guys having problems with the new SuperHawk. So when I bought the bike the previous owner did not tighten the bolts to the battery. In turn the battery and regulator/rectifier died. Which was replaced.

Then I was riding around on a really hot day and the engine cut out on me again. I took it to the shop, they were able to jump start the bike after it cooled down. They noticed at high RPMS almost no current is being made by the alternator. Is it possible that when the regulator went it took out the stator as well? I have never heard of stators going bad on Hondas or any bikes in general. I'm getting one popped in, I was quoted $140 for the stator so it must be the aftermarket one.

Yeah, it's possible, though the AC generator on our bike is designed to generate max power at all times. The extra voltage is bled off with the R/R and turned into heat. Not the most efficient or reliable, IMO.
