bike will not charge battery help.
 

Just installed new battery about a week ago.I will ride it just fine for a few days.Then out of no where it wont start,just clicks.This is my first bike,Just wondering what charges the battery?I can get on it start right up,then nothing.It will start with the kickstand down too.I think I am just running on charged power before the battery gets too low.

The regulator/rectifier or R/R is known to go on the older models so do a search on here for regulator or charging issues and you will find a ton of info. 2001 and later came with a finned unit for better heat dissipation, the earlier ones did not and are more prone to failure. There is also a link to the service manual in the knowledgebase that will help troubleshoot your problem.
