bike cranks but no fire.
 

Putting the hawk back together after a wreck 2 years ago. Hooked wiring back up with new battery and new plugs, and 2 new things seem to be happening.......1. The bike will crank with the kill switch in both the "run" and "stop" positions, this seems to be new to me as no bike Ive ever had would crank with the kill switch in the stop position. Also, Im getting no spark to either one of the brand new plugs. The battery is new, I can hear the solenoid click, and the starter motor cranks hard. I dont have a multimeter handy and was just looking for some input as to what you all think might be the cause. The wreck mainly jacked up the entire tail section of the bike, but there didnt appear to be any visual damage to the R/R or the ECU and all wiring looks to be solid, so I am a little baffled. I was thinking possibly the pulse generator but am open to suggestions as to what the culprit might be. Thanks all!

The SH cranks in both positions. That can cause some back fires once you realize to flip the switch. Check the continuity of the kill switch. Since it will crank in any position if you have an open it wont spark. I can't say if "run" open or closes the circuit.

I agree that it's likely a problem with the kill switch. The kill switch will allow the engine to crank, but it won't fire (I've done it on numerous times, quickly thinking something was wrong with the bike, before realizing my error). My guess, the bike believes the switch is closed, and as a result has the ignition turned off. I'd check for funky wiring issues at the kill switch before digging into other electrical components.
