ARGH! The Grease!
What do you use to clean the grease that accumulates on the rear wheel, chain guard, kick stand, etc? I've tried a couple kinds of degreaser and they barely touch it. I'm tired of it. There has to be another (better) way.

I use simple green or superclean. The issue with superclean is that it will cause damage if you forget it on there. Simple green and a brush will get it off.

Good old fashioned kerosene and an old toothbrush work for me.
After that polish the rim to put a coating of polish on it that makes it easier to clean off the next time. With the other parts use kerosene and a brush , wipe off with a rag and spray with wd40 etc . consistency is the key here, let it build up and it becomes a major chore, do it regularly and it's a snack ! |
WD40 here and a toothbrush if it's thick. Usually a well soaked WD rag will get it.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I *have* WD, so I guess I have a date w/a toothbrush tonight. If that doesn't work, I'll step up to some other options. |

Thanks guys. WD did the trick.

WD is short for "water displacement"
Just a fun fact. |

water displacement 40th recipe!

WD40 is machine oil, kerosene and perfume...
Skip its cost and just put kerosene in a spray bottle. For thick muck use a plastic scraper judiciously. Simple Green can burn paint too. Waxing after is a good answer but WD40 and kerosene do not need to be washed off, in fact they impart some non-stick. |
You sure there's no fish oil in it?
