Ape CCT Oil Leak, what's the solution?

After winter storage I discovered a quarter-size dlop of oil on the floor below the SH at the right rear of the engine. I've spent the past several weeks trying to find the source. Today I found it in a most unexpected place. The oil is leaking through the threads of the adjuster. The adjuster nut is definitely snug so that is not the cause. Anyone have a clue as to what may be causing this leak: incorrect assembly on my part, defective CCT, what? I doubt that this will ever be a source of significant oil leakage, is it worth fixing or just wiping off oil infrequently.

Or some silicon goop.

Known issue, later APEs have a o-ring to prevent this, but it doesn't always work with our bike because that rear CCT is bathed in oil.

Just back it out a bit (not much, don't want the timing to jump) put your sealant of choice on it, and tighten it up back to where it needs to be so that the threads will no longer leak.

Thanks for the heads up and solution for fix. I never read anything about this "known" problem when I researched APE for CCTs. Anyway, looks to be a quick fix.
