Anyone in the Portland, OR Area To help with Carb Cleaning

I have been having some issues with my carburetor that is honestly just over my head. I was wondering if there was someone in the Portland Oregon area who has the know how and tools to help me take apart, clean, and possibly rejet my carbs as i believe they are dirty. If you are interested in helping a fellow hawker please shoot me a PM or respond on here so I can get my Baby on the road again. Thank you and Thank you.

I can help you. I have a lot of experience on superhawk carbs. I am in Beaverton I am assuming that I would need to come to you?

Great!

I can ride it over to your place. I'm in hillsboro so it would be bad of a distance. I'm free every weekend from here to when you can help.

I will be gone this weekend so it would have to be the weekend after if only weekends work for you. I am free most evenings as well.

So what is the bike doing?

The bike basically seems like its being starved for fuel. When in idle (~1200rpm), it will run for a few minutes then bog down to about 800rpm and die. When im taking off there is almost no power right out of first until i get to about 5K and if i take off without feathering the clutch and throttle up to about 4k before releasing the clutch it will die mid take off. While riding in the higher rmp's on the highway i will have it at a steady 6-7 rpm and it will suddenly lose power and the RPM's will start to lower, i counteract this by pulling the clutch in, letting it drop to about 1500 and then giving it gas basically just rev it up until i feel the throttle response i know it should be at. Also upon deceleration it backfires pretty consistently. Excited? :)

Yeah, i can bring it over during the week. As soon as you're ready and willing!

Sounds like dirty carbs, what is the history of the bike? Like did it sit for a while, long term neglect from a previous owner, modifications that would affect fueling like air filter and exhaust etc. I just like to get a good baseline idea of what might be involved is all.

I don't have anything going on tonight... tomorrow night I will be busy and then the wait gets pushed out to Monday night before I am free to help again.

Do you want to send me your number so i can give you call?

It sat all winter, and its got stock pipes and air filter, with morstl. It was meticulously maintained by the previous owner/ and most everything else is stock i believe. If you want to work on it tonight I would could come over. It might be a little later like 8 or so.
