The 99 run like a charm.

the 98 is a real pain to start, starter doesn turn smooth, (replace the battery), replace the kill switch.

I never know, when i stop if i will need to push it, and it appears there is a dead spot, in the throtle, it kill the engine.

I will admit, i dont know nothing about bike, if it was a truck (carburated) i would say i am flooding it.

any idea.

Now, I'm looking at the picture... And in less than 30 seconds, I see three brainiac moves, two that are outright unsafe and have the potential to put the person riding that bike in a wheelchair or coffin, so either you are the one responsible for the modifications, and in that case I'm not talking to you... Or it was bought like that, and you don't know better... In which case you should put it right before I put much time into helping you...

ONE, raising the stock forks around 2" in the triples like that seriously reduces ground clearance to the point where you cannot ride the bike like it's meant to... I'm guessing with the bling-bling polished stuff and such it's a poser bike, but it's still unsafe, as you cannot corner without hitting hard parts...

TWO, who in their right mind bolts the reservoair to the brake fluid to the engine cover?! It's one of the hottest part on the bike, and you bolt the container holding temperature sensitive brake fluid to it? Not to mention the fact that it's plastic and becomes brittle with repeated heatcycling, which means it's highly likely to break, loosing the fluid and the function of the brake... Again, just a guess, the bike and you are also residing in a hot climate, only making this worse... Completely unsafe...

THREE, not unsafe... But going on what I see, the bike is bling-bling only, not performance upgrades... Your choice, not the one I'd make though, but still yours to make... I'm guessing you or the PO have just plunked those shortened cans on there... Most slipon's work like they come from the manufacturer without rejetting... But they do really need it anyway...

If you shorthen the cans like that, it's not a case of needs to anymore, but a requirement for running right... So either someone have already been in there, and FUBAR'ed stuff... Or someone haven't been in there... Either way you now have a bike with the fueling way off...

A "flat spot" in the throttle can be a lot of things, like improperly adjusted throttle cables from when someone disassembled stuff and polished, to bad fueling...

Now, go out in the garage, and fix the safety issues... THEN I'll invest my time in helping you figure out the performance...
