It's possible that on 1/11/05 5:11 PM, David McCrary at

And for the truly trivia obsessed, that's the aircraft that helped the
Indian Air Force tear the USAF a new fredhole in exercises last year. It
uses vectored thrust nozzles similar to how the Harrier lands, except the
SU-30 uses them to enhance handling. It was designed in the 90s, and is one
of the newest airframes in service.

Needless to say, the USAF freaked...the entire concept of how the US
projects power assumes air superiority over the battlefield.

Of course it kinda just confirmed what was already suspected...

All that money saved since Reagan died is coming back to haunt us. The
Chinese are buying SU-30s as fast as they can collect the accounts
receivable from WalMart. Hows your kid's Mandarin?

Ciao,

Daryl

And if we go back to time of original design, we lose a lot more of them.

Not a workable plan, Big D, in the big beaurocracy.
