Oh yeah, I still "out there".

Just had my daughter's third birthday party, planning my son's second
birthday in 5 weeks, and trying to get ready to move.

No, I'm not riding anything...

I thought maybe something wasn't working from my end. Based on the
flurry of messages that used to be here, I was pretty surprised that
it's so quiet.

I gotta agree that I don't like the "pull" model of the forums (I get
busy and forget about visiting). The email way, at least I am forced to
scan the subjects to see if anything interesting is going on.

Of course, the UK list is quite busy... they even occasionally talk
about motorcycles... ;) ;)

Glad to see a few people are still around.

been getting some riding in, been doing some track days with my super hawk this summer, thats fun. had two great summer rides, rode to Road America Wisc (from minnesota) for AMA superbike races early june, and in july we packed up and shipped 9 bikes and all our riding gear and camping gear and flew out to california to meet our bikes,,, we spent 4 days riding the pacific coast north of san fran and the napa valley areas, and then transfered to Laguana Seca and set up our on track campsite, took in the Moto GP and AMA event there, what a great great time!!!

Only breath taking event for me was running out of gas (? maybe) on interstate 101 near down town San Jose at 11 pm at nite... and losing the rest of the group, and not knowing where the hotel was for the nite... thank god for cell phones! My fuel light comes on at about 80 miles showing on the trip odometer... and one ride the first gas station i got to was at 107 showing on the trip odemeter... put 3.65 gallons on that refill... i thought the superhawk had a 4.5 gallon tank. so when the fuel light came on at 82 miles on the 101 freeway, and only 20 miles to the hotel, i figured ok lets go for it. At 95 i started getting nervous, and so started looking for gas... at 103 ran out, was able to get off the traffic lanes unto the shoulder and coast about 1/2 up the exit ramp, thankfully was not ghetto and had a gas station only a block off the exit ramp. Filled up, and was only 3.4 gallons to filled. Wasnt vapor lock. Weird. even with 4.2 gallon tank i should still havre been able to go a few more miles. ideas? I know i dont get good mileage, piped, jetted, K&N filter, and im a big guy so i know the bike works harder for me.

the bar end mirrors are called Hindsight Billet Aluminum Bar End Mirrors, made by CRG, Constructors Racing Group, LLC. Watsonville CA. Cost was $70 EACH... I have Heli bars which are solid. The left mirror fit without modification to the grip or bars or (cant use the CRG bar end inserts due to the Heli bars being solid) The right mirror i had to move the throttle assembly inboard a bit, and then performed surgery on the grip and the throttle handle bar tube ( i have no idea what the white cylindrical plastic piece is called other than that) .. the surgery to create a safe space to clamp the mirror on between the throttle assembly and the bar end. Wouldn't do to have the throttle stick open on the mirror assembly.

At first i only had the left mirror installed, and i found that even with just the one mirror, i could actually see MORE than with the two stock mirrors, where all i could see were my shoulders, and had to contort to see anything behind me. With two mirrors, its wonderful.

Neil
