Back in the saddle again.

Hi All
Been away for quite some time. late 2020 colon cancer chemo really screwed up my balance and strength. Yesterday first short rides after new tires carb clean, brake and clutch fluid refresh. Took it easy need to scrub in the new skins. Aerosmith song still stuck in my head!!!!

Go getem!

I know the emotional and especially physical pain and suffering life can bring!

Take it slow, which often is the only way you can...

I've been off and on, down and out also since 2020, actually earlier.

It's tough after 50+ years of flying low on 2 wheels. I'm struggling with not a loss of a love but of a lifesty, ingrained since my teens.

People say WHY when you can barely walk 20 paces but they aren't motorcyclists.

For me mounting up and dismounting very challenging. Slow speed maneuvers, U-turns and such are almost impossible. So balance issues and stiffness, lack of flexibility make it that much more dangerous. But its the severe pain that makes it not worth it...

I try to always say "It always could be worse!".

But a person's gotta know there limitations, and pain can get you down when it plays you like a big base drum.

I keep trying because Im a stubborn and refuse to give up.

Yet are some point...

Dang, good to see you're on the up and up Pidge. C work sucks.
I never ride w/o music. I remember way back on my first street bike (91) I had a walkman I listened to and the first song was GnR Civil War. It started out kinda slow to remind me to let the tires warm up a little before going batchit crazy.

Keep in touch!
:wheelie:

I recall riding North on interstate 5 parallel with Mission Bay park and then Sea World in San Diego fumbling with my Sony walkman but loving the Police tape I had crankin!

I also earlier had an AM - FM radio with a spliter to 2 Mono earbuds

Of course I had stereo Philips turntabe with the wood case connected to a twin deck semi-pro cassette recorder with Dolby firing through the first Pioneer DC amplifier with AM-FM with four wired base woofer, mid-range & tweeter speakers I built.

This was about 1976, so I still had my carriage garage loaded with AJS & Matchless singles and twins with a Watsonian & Bohemia chair that I modified the AJS twin to.

I didn't get a Japanese bike until my 1980 750F with its Comstsr wheels and Vetter Qicksilver frame mount fairing. Sold it and all but one Matchless in 1981 when I left San Diego.

Still have the stereo system...

LPs rule

Philips 312 was and is a PDG TT

A classic well worth keeping and using.

It's SO funny LPs are "IN"

My oldest bought a setup not long ago.

Now I need to see which amp and dual cassette deck I have!
