Too short for riding pants?

I was thinking about purchasing some pants for riding, but I can't find the exact size for me. In jeans, I wear 38-30's and the pants run different sizes than that.
Is there anywhere that makes them custom fit for riders?

I think you're going to have to buy them to your waist size and then have them tailored to length. They sure don't make them like jeans in a million sizes so you got to go with the best and then alter them from there. Different companies have different fits as well.

An alternative or at least a stopgap is to do what I do. I wear heavy denim cargo pants and wear my alpinestars with fox mountainbike knee/shinguards underneath and you can also wear those armored dirtbike riding shorts underneath too. They're cheap and have saved my ass and along with a little luck enabled me to walk away more than once...Get 'em used off ebay, who cares. Don't syed and vanson make custom fit leathers?

Cool, thanks for the advice. I would assume that I would have to find someone who can hem and alter leather, locally of course.
The shorts under the cargos sound like a great idea as well. I have been dieting and dropping pounds, so my pants are already loose, so I could keep those to wear over them when riding.

I wear 34x29 and the standard 34s work fine for me. Heck, the excess goes inside my boots anyway.

If you are looking at kevlar riding jeans, Teknic makes the Rage Jeans that are available in standard and shorts lengths. I am 34x30 and had to buy the 34 shorts. They still cover your shoes in length while in the seated position. I wear Bohn armor underneath the pants.

Man it must be nice to have TOO MUCH length for pants!! Ive only recently been able to find JEANS that fit, let alone riding pants. So if anyone knows where I can find riding pants that are too long and that might fit a guy who is 6'9" then let me know!!

Barnacle Bill, who does leather alterations, is just two hours away in Springfield, KY. It is around Elizabeth Town. He can take out the extra and fix them up.

Here is the link to his site www.racingleather.com

I just talked to him the other day. Real nice guy.

Cool, I go through e-town to see my parents in radcliff Ky. So, if I get something too long i can drop them on the way up, and pick them up on the way back. Great.
