Looks like a nice bag. Any idea how many liters? Seems most of them refer to liters, for size

i am looking at a givi T478. Any experience with that one?
Thanks |
Sorry, not a recommendation but a friend once told me a story of his tank bag that has kept me away from them. I'm not telling you to not buy one, just a heads up... he had a whole bunch of scratches on his tank and found out the magnet on his bag collected metal pieces that he didn't see [obviously] until it was too late.
I have a Cortech tail bag. I would recommend their stuff, it's very well designed and made. Check out this link. |
Thanks, good information. Hadn't thought about the metal

If you're aware of the issue, there is never a need to be concerned with damaging the tank paint. It is now an automatic deal... the bags go from the hallway storage cabinet Attachment 23673 to the bikes, and you feel each magnet as you drop the bag on the tank. |
Hit this up again.
Was wondering if anyone uses Cortech? I was looking that this 1 - magnetic type Cortech Super 2.0 Tank Bag with Magnetic Mount | Sport Bike | Jake Wilson Looks to have all the bells & whistles. I'm tired of using an old strap mounted system that slides around too much. |

I have two tank bags from Cycle Gear, both with identical construction, and yet one has been scuffing my gas tank while the other does not.
I'm going to get some thin tool box liner foam and attach it to the bottom of the bag. |
I was all set to get a tank bag and had some second thoughts. Not the least of which was scratching the s*** out my tank. With weighting the pro and cons of tank vs tail bags, I went with a tail bag. No regrets.

I had a few different types, I finally settled with the hard shell one I have now and love it. It's made by axio. I got mine at a local bike shop here.you can see it in my pics, the top of it is harshell with an indentation for phone its expandable (hold a lot) also magnetic and has hidden straps to use it as a backpack too. Under the cover is a series of compartment areas for important papers and a couple of zipper areas to hold misc stuff you don't want floating around the bag. I also generally use it as a forward rest spot while riding low being its hardshell. Btw in this picture it's actually sitting backwards lol

Dude, just sew some rare earth magnets onto your favorite backpack for a $7 multitasker.
I have been using tankbags for years without a mark. But for sure you gotta pick the staples, etc off the magnets. Plus with a tail bag where does the chick go? |

I've got an oxford expandable tankbag that I've had for years. Starting to turn pretty brown now from all the UV. Holding up well, but most often I use it as a tailbag and throw a small tankbag on for keys, wallet, phone, etc. I don't really like having something really bulky infront of me.
