for the tall guys

i am 6'4", 46l jacket size and a 34x36 pant size... an that 36" is no joke, when i sit with 36" pants they ride up. some say me riding a motorcycle is like watching a clown ride a tricycle, but i don't care.

to the point.. are there any tall fellows out there that have found riding pants that are not "high waters." i have modified my textile pants with extra fabric and Olympia said they would give me extra fabric to lengthen there pants..

what about leathers???

I'm 6'2 and have a hard time finding stuff that fits as well.

No disrespect intended, but a riding buddy of mine used to ride with guy back in the '80s who was 6' 6". He said he looked like a monkey f***ing a football.

Obviously you are not looking to install rearsets.

Up until about 15 or 20 years ago when I expanded to a 30 waist, I wore 28 waist pants, 32 inseam. If I went to buy slacks, I was told I had to go to the boys department. I was in my 40's then.

Might want to try the crew at Rider's Wearhouse. Besides making gear that fits for riding, they will alter to suit. (pun intended). Top quality both in terms of material and service.

Your boots should be long enough to cover up any riding up.
1-piece and 2-piece suits do not go all the way down, but motorcycle boots are long enough to cover this. Any good sport bike boot will work, you don't need special pants.

I'm 6'4" 275 40-36 and 52 jacket and I used to ride a pre 98 Katana. One of my buddies one time said it looked like my ass was going to swallow the bike whole. I've been researching the AGV sport excursion pants as my next gear purchase. Some of the reviews even said they run a little long which is good for riding, just makes them look a little thuggish and baggy when you get off the bike.

i have a custom darian from AS. the sleeves are barly long enough i love that coat though. every time i wear it i like it more.. have been looking into the pants, expensive... i have a set of olympia and a fieldsheer long adventure pant that has seen better days...

i am looking for leathers. that are known to have long sizes or inseams. for in the boot 32-34 length.. i think joe-rocket leathers are 32 or 33..

looking for folks that have bought and tried them with recommendations.

are there any textile sport riding pants? eventhough i like leather for spring summer and fall riding.. to me leather is just more comfortable and wind compatible.

I'm a good 6'4" and I had just taken off my seat the other day in plans to trim some foam out, for a better position.

There are a lot of retailers that make gear from your measurements, a lot of them decent priced... It's worth it when nothing else fit's... Trust me, at 6'5" and 210 lbs with longish arms and legs I found nothing that fit's... A one-piece made to size for me was $1000-1100... Well worth it...

r80gsman 01-13-2011 01:19 PM

yep my jacket was over 500$.. one thing that worries me about he pants is making then long enough even with alterations. i would have to go with the darians ... i like the leathers Aerostich has but they are not long enough to go on the out side of boots... i have the sidi all-roads which are very tall. which might cover the inside.

i have seen the leathers and they are nice.

I'm 6'2" and usually wear 34 length in jeans. I just got a pair of tourmaster FLEX pants in XLT and they are pretty long. Inseem from center of crotch down the leg is 33 1/4" and from top of waist down outside of the leg is 45". Maybe that helps.Great pants tho with lots of features

I have leathers I may be willing to part with. Vanson's fit for me. I'm 6'3" 36" inseam LONG arms and at the time was approx 170 lbs. I only used them a dozen times or so. They are black, white, reflective pipeing and a checker board motife across the chest and back. Paid $ 1200ish for'm. Reasonable offer?

I am 6'6", and I find that when wearing my alpinestars boots and my speed and strength pants, there's no gap. there's plenty of pant tucked into the boot
