Taking your pet with you...
I'd love to take my Chihuahua mix with me on the bike, but I can't find a tank mounted pet carrier. All I've seen is sissy bar mounted or attaching to the rear fenders for cruisers. I don't want to backpack him as I'd like him to be able to just hang out and lay down. Any suggestions are appreciated!

You must have one laid back chihuaua ! Ours is so wired all the time I expect he'd pee continuously if I put him on the 'hawk and rode him around. |
What on earth...?
Found this one that attaches to the tank: Jet Set Motorcycle Pet Carrier Bag Although honestly I am usually more comfortable with a backpack than a tank bag, I've found. This is personal as I have my bars pretty low so I like having more room in front of me. Would you consider a pet backpack? There also may be more options if you look at a couple of stiff tank bags that you can just unzip for your little doggie's head. |

Very cool. I used to breed poms and once in a while carry one in my jacket. You could also custom make somthing, like take a regular pet carrier and sew on some mounting system.
I always make tank bags by sewing magnets into a really good backpack. This way its the best of both worlds and way more funtional. |
May look into other forums a bit as well. Not to many folks check around these parts for touring ideas.

Years ago while eating at a local restaurant, I saw a rider on an mid 70's Triumph loading his Golden Retriever on the back in a modified sissy bar, 3 sided mesh cage. The dog tucked in beautifully and was quite the site in a leather helmet and goggles. At the time I thought it was a stunt to impress chicks, but 6 months later during winter, when I saw them on I-405 in the rain and rush hour, I knew they were the real deal!

I saw a tv special on this awesome old coot who towed his pony around with his goldwing in a standup trailer which he made himself. It was just a steel cage that surrounded the animal. He towed the pony to kids parties at like 65mph. Very insane.

Check out "On Any Sunday" for the desert racing dog. Clings to the tank with a carpet pad on it.

One of the best movies of all time. Hulu has it free of anyone would like to watch it.

I've taken my cat Scampi in tank bag to the vet - he was surprised at Scampi's pulse which was a tad sky high... Next time I got a cat container and a taxi.

VTR with a sidecar? Hmm anyone not have plans for the long hard winters we don't get in CA?

Years ago, I met a young guy on a Honda CBX one evening in a parking lot with a boa constrictor in his tank bag.
An actual reptile. No euphemisms here. |
Is there a way I can take my Great Dane with me??? ...Ohh yeah, a sidecart....
