I got this Kobe one it's thin comfy and inexpensive with a good amount of foam. If you sign up to their site it's cheaper, $89 compared to $99.

I've been using the Teknic 7 Plate spine protector for a couple of years now and I crashed tested it twice last year. In both cases I walked away with no injuries. I'll be getting another one, and it's only $70.00

Re: spine protectors

I have a Dainese. I bought my leathers second -hand and it came with them. I really like it and wear it every time I put my leathers on.
It is actually pretty thin. I forget I have it on by the time I zip my suit up.
I wear full coverage from head to toe, and a back protector is all part of the package.
Having suffered a fractured neck in college, and 3 fused vertabra, I'll also sometimes wear one of those foam neck wrap things (sort of like Indy car, NASCAR, etc. guys wear.)

Dainese
Has double belts & shoulder straps.
Plenty of back coverage.

One of the things I like about mine and the Dianese is they have tail bone protection as well. How about the others? Oh mine has the double straps as well but mine looks a little wider on the top though.

Re: spine protectors

I thought it couldn't happen to me but I got a row of broken ribs in my back last year. Had thin Teknik back pad under a Teknic 2 pc. suit. My spine was fine thankfully , but I'm sure the injury would have been less with a better back protector. Don't skimp on that item is my 2 cents. BTW, the back pad in the teknic suit was more for touring/street. They make good race suits and armour.
